Blog Tour Stop and Review of REMY by Katy Evans

ORDER HERE

SYNOPSIS:

New York Times bestselling author Katy Evans expands upon the intense love story begun in Real–this time from Remington “Riptide” Tate’s point of view.

Underground fighter Remington Tate is a mystery, even to himself. His mind is dark and light, complex and enlightening. At times his actions and moods are carefully measured, and at others, they spin out of control.Through it all, there’s been one constant: wanting, needing, loving, and protecting Brooke Dumas. This is his story; from the first moment he laid eyes on her and knew, without a doubt, she would be the realest thing he’s ever had to fight for.

Mine

As a self-proclaimed audiobook addict, it’s hard to wait for an audiobook to come out on the official release day when you know you can get your hands on the ARC. But wait I did, and it was worth it. The narrator, Sebastian York, will be recognizable to many of you who also listen to audiobooks in this genre.

REMY is the retelling of Brooke and Remy’s journey in REAL and MINE from Remy’s POV. The chapters alternate between past and present. I know some people aren’t crazy about alternating POVs, feeling that it can make a story redundant. That is SO not the case here. Because Remy lives in a unique head space, having the chance to live there with him for this novella is moving and sexy as hell. #alphamaleftw

The other day, my co-admin *coughbosscough* kitt asked me that of the books I’ve listened to recently, which one could I see getting a movie deal. Maybe my answer is the biggest compliment I can pay Katy Evans and the world she’s created with The REAL Series. Remy deserves to have his story told on the big screen. I can already hear us chanting “Remy! Remy! Remy!” from the theater seats.

Remy (Patrick Cote) and Brooke (Lyndsy Fonseca)

Thank you, Katy, for sharing your Remy with us. Hope to see you on the red carpet one day!

Coming Soon From Sylvain Reynard: The Raven

Message from SR:

My next novel is the first in a new series, and it will be entitled The Raven. With this novel, I’m asking you to pack your bags and travel with me to the city of Florence. The Gabriel Series showed you the city during the day. This time, I’ll show you Florence’s underworld, which is ruled by creatures of the night …

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Gabriel Series comes a dark, sensual tale of romance in a city shrouded in mystery…

Raven Wood spends her days at Florence’s Uffizi Gallery restoring fine works of Renaissance art.  But an innocent walk home after an evening with friends changes her life forever. When she intervenes in the senseless beating of a homeless man, his attackers turn on her, dragging her into an alley.  Raven is only semi-conscious when their assault is interrupted by a cacophony of growls followed by her attacker’s screams.  Mercifully, she blacks out, but not before catching a glimpse of a shadowy figure who whispers to her …

Cassita vulneratus.

When Raven awakes, she is inexplicably changed.  She returns to the Uffizi, but no one recognizes her and more disturbingly, she discovers that she’s been absent an entire week.  With no recollection of the events leading up to her disappearance, Raven also learns that her absence coincides with one of the largest robberies in Uffizi history – the theft of a set of priceless Botticelli illustrations. When the baffled police force identifies her as its prime suspect, Raven is desperate to clear her name. She seeks out one of Florence’s wealthiest and elusive men in an attempt to uncover the truth about her disappearance. Their encounter leads Raven to a dark underworld whose inhabitants kill to keep their secrets …

As SR mentioned in his September post (here), readers of Gabriel’s Redemption will be able to read an excerpt from The Raven at the end of both the paperback and e-book editions. But to hear the exciting news that he did NOT mention in that post, go to SR’s website here!

There is no release date for for The Raven yet, but SR and/or his trusty PR rep Nina (@ennbocci) hope to have one soon. According to SR, “This novel marks my transition from a contemporary love story to a paranormal one. I hope you’ll join me on this journey and that if you have friends and family who enjoy paranormal novels, you’ll help me share the news with them.”

And just a reminder (as if you need one!), December 3rd is the North American release date for Gabriel’s Redemption. US fans can enter a contest to win the novel on Goodreads here. There is also an exclusive excerpt and contest running on Romance Times here.

MINE by Katy Evans Blog Tour Stop and Review

I literally just finished listening to the audiobook of MINE. *sniffs* As a self-professed audiobook addict, I held off on reading the ARC (thank you Simon & Schuster!) because I wanted to make the audiobook…wait for it…mine.

MINE is the sequel to REAL (review here). Like so many others (there are seriously 200+ bloggers signed up for this blog tour), I couldn’t wait to get back into Remy’s head space. Reviews are always hard for me to write because you walk a fine line between wanting to talk about your favorite parts and not wanting to ruin it for potential readers with spoilers. Let’s see if I can accomplish this by telling you how the alpha male in this series, underground UFC fighter Remington “Riptide” Tate, appeals to my five senses and uses them to make Brooke Dumas his.

Sight: Remy needs to see his woman, whether he’s black or blue…and it’s sexy as hell.
Smell: Remy scents his woman…and it’s sexy as hell.
Sound: Remy shares meaningful music with his woman…and it’s sexy as hell.
Taste: Remy licks his woman…and it’s sexy as hell.
Touch: Remy pets his woman…and it’s sexy as hell.

Brook mentally refers to Remy as her big lion, and it fits him. He’s primal and lion-hearted. He treats his opponents in the ring as prey and would hunt Brook to the ends of the earth if she were to ever leave him. He’s the leader of their pack and fiercely protective of what’s his. (A/N: Katy, if by any chance you’re reading this, I absolutely LOVE the name of the newest pack member. *melts*)

And, oh yeah, there’s this to love about Remy…and it’s sexy as hell.

Still waiting for the bell to ring before you buy this series by Katy Evans? Ding. Ding.

Synopsis & Ordering Information HERE

And we don’t have long to wait before we can step back into the ring with our alpha male. REMY will be out on  on 11/26/13! Watch for our blog tour stop and review on 11/30/13.

Late Night With Andres by Debra Anastasia Blog Tour Stop

Debra Anastasia has brought a lot of characters into our lives through her writing, but perhaps the biggest one of all is Debra herself. We adore her and her lack of filter!

debraanastasia

In the midst of writing the long-awaited sequel to Poughkeepsie, Return to Poughkeepsie (see our post here), and working on an unbelievable interactive experience for fans of the Poughkeepsie world (see our post here), she also managed to write the novella Late Night With Andres. But of course that wasn’t enough. She had to go and up the ante. Debra, in conjuction with her publisher Omnific Publishing, is donating 100% of all proceeds from the sale of Late Night With Andres to breast cancer research (see our post here)!

Debra’s new novella is a fun, quick read told from alternating POVs of the two main characters, Milla and Gage. They are both scheduled guests on a TV show called…you guessed it…Late Night With Andres. Milla is a blogger who writes an advice column that gained popularity through her snarky tweets. Needless to say, you will find Debra’s brand of humor in her personality. Gage is a sexy rockstar tired of living his life in the spotlight, but he understands people don’t want to hear him bitch about it because he’s living the dream that he set out to achieve. When a man bent on revenge infiltrates the studio, Milla and Gage find themselves hiding in a room together and, eventually, having to figure out how to survive the “freak show” who shoots his way into their room. I know. I know. I said it was a fun read. And it is. LOL! Yes, there is some suspense, but it’s how Milla handles the situation that provides the levity. And you can’t help but fall in love with Gage.

So whether you’re a long-time fan, new to Debra’s writing, or somewhere in between, do yourself a favor and pick up Late Night With Andres. Laughter is good for your soul. Giving is good for your soul and the souls of the lives you touch.

United in Anti-Bullying

anti bullying fb cover final

Fics2Flicks tracks divider

Bullying

is

ugly.

Period.

WickedWitch

When we started this blog, it was to support authors by communicating and/or promoting their stories, as well as share in discussing the stories and characters with other fans.

Running this site and our sister site is a hobby for us that we dedicate a lot of our time to in order to positively contribute to the larger book fandom. Having said this, we are always extremely disheartened to learn that the greater book fandom includes cases of bullying. We don’t see a need or a place for it. Books are art, and art is subjective. As adults, we should be able to respect another’s work of art or opinion on art, but also as adults, we should take heed to share our opinions responsibly and with tact.

There’s a certain philosophy that you can’t expect out of anyone else what you aren’t willing to do yourself. So, first, we commit to not actively or intentionally try to bully anyone else. Second, we won’t allow aggressive comments of a bullying nature on our site/twitter timeline.

We wish we had an answer for how to prevent bullying altogether, but we don’t. For whatever reasons, it exists. We do, however, have two suggestions for coping with bullying.

1.  Be Glinda, the good witch. 🙂 Lend your support and band together with your friends in peace, love, and support to dismiss bullies. Tell bullies:

Glinda

2.  Feel free to share your own stories of how you’ve been bullied in the comments. Sometimes the idea of bullying is too much of an abstract that is “out there somewhere.” Taking time to share your own personal examples may help make bullying go from a concept we hear about to an experience that affects others enough to also take a stand with us.

That’s exactly why THE SUBCLUB girls reached out to us and so many others. They heard about an experience that affected them enough that they decided to take a stand. We’re proud to stand along side them…united in anti-bullying. We hope you’ll join us.

Let’s help make bullying remain a part of fiction, not life.
